Effortless Cajun Steak Alfredo (Printable Version)

Juicy steak strips with fettuccine covered in a creamy Cajun kick. Looks fancy but comes together without much fuss.

# What You'll Need:

→ Everything Else

01 - Fresh chopped parsley to sprinkle on top
02 - 12 ounces fettuccine noodles

→ For the Sauce

03 - ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
04 - 1 teaspoon Cajun spice mix
05 - 1 cup Parmesan, grated fresh
06 - 1½ cups heavy cream
07 - 2 garlic cloves, chopped up small
08 - 2 tablespoons plain butter

→ For the Steak

09 - Salt and some black pepper, as much as you like
10 - 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning blend
11 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
12 - 1 pound ribeye or sirloin, brought to room temp

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Give a good twirl to your pasta onto nice warm plates. Stack those juicy steak strips all over the top, shower with parsley, and soak up the 'oohs' from your crew.
02 - Dump your fettuccine into the rolling boiling water and cook it till it still has a tiny bite left. Scoop out half a cup of water before you drain, just in case your sauce needs it.
03 - Whisk in handfuls of Parmesan so it melts in, then sprinkle in smoked paprika and toss in that last bit of Cajun spice. Keep whisking till the sauce is smooth and glossy.
04 - Pour your heavy cream in and let it come up to a bubble. Give it three minutes to thicken a bit while you keep an eye on it.
05 - Stick your pan back on the heat, toss in the butter, and as soon as it melts, throw in the garlic. Sauté until you can smell it and it's turning golden—don’t burn it or you’ll have to start over.
06 - Once your steak’s had its timeout, cut it into thin pieces, making sure to go against the grain. That keeps every bite nice and tender.
07 - Pull the steak out of the pan and let it rest on the side. It’s gotta sit so the juices stay put. Don’t rush it or you’ll regret it!
08 - Bring your skillet up to super hot and drop in the steak. Leave it alone for 3-4 minutes to get that perfect sear, then flip it. Give it another 3-4 minutes for med-rare, extra time if you like it well done.
09 - Fill up a big pot with water and get it roaring. Throw in a liberal amount of salt to help the noodles taste good.
10 - Rub the steak in olive oil until it’s glossy. Toss Cajun seasoning over both sides, then add salt and pepper. Leave it out on the counter for about 15 minutes.
11 - Toss your drained pasta in with the creamy sauce. Add a splash of that saved pasta water if it seems thick. Give everything a good mix so every noodle is covered.

# Additional Notes:

01 - If steak isn’t your mood tonight, you can swap in shrimp or chicken and it’s just as awesome.
02 - Looking for more kick? Don’t hold back—just add an extra pinch of Cajun spice.
03 - Serve it as soon as it’s done, since the sauce thickens up if you wait too long.
