Apple Pie Bombs (Print)

Soft dough packed with warm spiced apples, baked, and rolled in cinnamon sugar. A fun take on a classic favorite.

# Ingredients:

→ For the Apple Filling

01 - 1/3 cup white sugar
02 - 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
03 - 2 medium apples, diced after peeling and coring
04 - 2 tablespoons of butter, not salted
05 - 2 tablespoons water
06 - 1 tablespoon of cornstarch

→ For the Dough

07 - 8 biscuits from 1 can of ready-to-bake dough
08 - 1 cup sugar mixed with cinnamon
09 - 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon
10 - 1/2 cup of butter, melted

# Steps:

01 - In a saucepan over medium heat, melt your butter. Stir in the diced apples along with the cinnamon and sugar. Keep mixing for about 5 minutes while they cook, softening the apples. In another bowl, stir together the cornstarch with water until smooth, then pour that into the pan. Let it cook another minute or two until it thickens, then set it aside to cool while you prepare the rest.
02 - Crank your oven up to 375°F and set a parchment-lined baking sheet on the counter. It’ll catch spills and save cleanup time.
03 - Open the biscuit dough can and pull out the individual biscuits. Use your hands or a rolling pin to spread each one until it’s about 1/4-inch thick. Circles don’t have to look perfect, so no stressing!
04 - Scoop a tablespoon of that apple filling you made earlier onto the center of each flattened piece of dough. Bring the edges up and seal them tight, forming a ball. Try to make sure there’s no gap, so nothing oozes out during baking.
05 - Roll every ball in melted butter, covering it completely, then dunk it into the cinnamon-sugar mix. Place each stuffed dough ball on the baking sheet with the seam at the bottom.
06 - Pop the tray in the oven and let them bake for 12 to 15 minutes. They’ll come out beautifully golden and make your kitchen smell heavenly.
07 - Let them cool just a little. You want them warm, not too hot, so you can enjoy the gooey insides without burning yourself. They're best when fresh out of the oven!

# Notes:

01 - These little treats pack all the apple pie flavor into individual pieces. They’re great for parties, a quick snack, or when you’re in the mood for something sweet.
02 - Try using apples with a firmer texture, like Honeycrisp or Granny Smith, so they don’t turn into mush. Their tartness also adds to the perfect balance of sweetness.
03 - Want to make them ahead? Store them for a couple of days at room temperature. To get them crispy again, just pop them back in the oven for a bit before serving.
