Cheesy Beef Potato Bake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 4-5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
02 - 1 pound ground beef
03 - 1 medium onion, chopped
04 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
05 - 2 garlic cloves, minced
06 - 1 cup and a half of shredded cheddar cheese
07 - Salt and pepper, adjusted to taste
08 - Half a teaspoon paprika powder
09 - One teaspoon of dried Italian herbs
10 - A quarter cup of optional milk for a creamier result
11 - Half a cup of beef broth or water
12 - A sprinkle of fresh parsley if desired for garnish
13 - Half a cup of grated Parmesan cheese

# Instructions:

01 - Turn the oven on to 375°F (190°C). Spray or oil a 9x13 dish to prevent sticking.
02 - Add olive oil to a skillet on medium heat. Break up and brown the ground beef for about 5-7 minutes. Get rid of extra fat, if any.
03 - Mix in the chopped onion and minced garlic with the beef. Stir for another 3-4 minutes until the onion is soft and see-through.
04 - Lay the meat mixture evenly at the bottom of your dish. Arrange the potato slices over it and sprinkle on paprika, salt, pepper, and dried herbs.
05 - Scatter cheddar and Parmesan cheeses over the layers. Pour the broth or water around the dish edges, and for a richer glaze, trickle some milk if you'd like.
06 - Cover the dish with foil and cook for 30 minutes. Then, remove the foil and continue baking uncovered for 15-20 minutes until the potatoes soften and cheese turns golden.
07 - Allow it to sit for about 5 minutes. Sprinkle chopped parsley on top if you'd like, and serve while warm.

# Notes:

01 - Slicing your potato thinly ensures even cooking.
02 - Skipping the fat-draining step can make the dish too greasy.
03 - Letting it rest brings out blended flavors more strongly.
