Crunchy Strawberry Treat (Print)

Strawberry-flavored layers with creamy frosting and cookie crumble topping. Brings back the flavor of a childhood favorite.

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 package vanilla cake mix.
02 - 3 oz strawberry-flavored gelatin.
03 - 4 eggs, large.
04 - 1 cup milk.
05 - 1/2 cup butter, melted and unsalted.
06 - 1 oz dried strawberry slices.
07 - 1 pack of vanilla sandwich cookies.
08 - 1/4 cup butter, warm and unsalted, for topping.
09 - 8 oz cream cheese, left out to soften.
10 - 3/4 cup softened unsalted butter.
11 - 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla.
12 - 1/4 teaspoon salt (kosher).
13 - 3 cups powdered sugar.
14 - 2 tablespoons milk to mix frosting.

# Steps:

01 - Turn oven on to 350°F and grease a big rectangular pan (9x13).
02 - Stir together the cake mix, eggs, milk, gelatin, and melted butter until there are no lumps.
03 - Spread the batter evenly in the pan and bake for about 28-30 minutes until it’s golden and springs back to the touch.
04 - Smash cookies and dried strawberries in separate batches, then mix them with warm butter.
05 - Whip together cream cheese, softened butter, and salt. Add in sugar and vanilla slowly while beating.
06 - Spread the frosting on the cooled cake, then sprinkle the crumbed topping all over.

01 - Wait to add the topping until you’re ready to eat.
02 - Make sure to store it in the fridge.
03 - Best eaten in 2-3 days.
