Run mixture in an ice cream machine, toss in soaked berries right at the end.

Pop into the freezer for at least 4 hours before scooping.

Put in the fridge and cool it down to around 45°F.

Stir together the strained puree, half-and-half, syrup, sugar, and salt.

Chop 1 cup of berries, mix with liquor and sugar, and chill in the fridge for a couple of hours or more.

Blend the rest of the strawberries, run through a strainer, and measure out 1.5 cups.
