Sugar Cookie Bars (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base Layer

01 - 3/4 cup white sugar
02 - 1 large egg
03 - 1/2 tablespoon vanilla
04 - 1/2 cup softened butter
05 - 1 3/4 cups plain flour
06 - 1/4 teaspoon table salt
07 - 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

→ Topping Frosting

08 - 1/2 stick softened butter
09 - 3 ounces fluffy cream cheese
10 - 2 cups icing sugar
11 - 3/4 teaspoon pure vanilla

→ Extra Decor

12 - Candy shapes or colorful sprinkles

# Instructions:

01 - Set oven to 350°F. Place parchment in an 8x8 pan.
02 - Combine butter and sugar until creamy. Toss in egg and vanilla. Blend in the dry mixture until smooth.
03 - Spread the mixture evenly in your pan. Bake roughly 20 minutes—check with a toothpick.
04 - Mix together the butter and cream cheese until it’s smooth. Add vanilla. Gradually stir in your powdered sugar.
05 - After it cools, layer frosting across the top. Sprinkle with your favorite decorations.
