Meat Cheese Roll Fun (Print)

Tender meat, sharp cheese, and crispy pastry come together for a flavor-packed treat.

# Ingredients:

→ Fundamentals

01 - Paprika powder, as much as you like
02 - Black pepper, to taste
03 - Salt to suit your taste
04 - 1 egg for brushing the top
05 - 200 g shredded cheese (try cheddar, gouda, or emmental)
06 - 1 sheet of fresh puff pastry
07 - 500 g ground beef or your favorite ground meat instead

→ Extras if you feel like it

08 - Chopped chilies or jalapeños for some heat
09 - Diced onions
10 - Finely chopped bell pepper
11 - Chopped fresh herbs like chives or parsley

# Steps:

01 - Put the roll onto your baking tray and bake for 25–30 minutes or until the outside's crispy and has a deep golden color.
02 - Whisk the egg and brush it all over the puff pastry roll. This'll make it come out shiny and golden.
03 - Set your oven to 200 °C if you're using top and bottom heat, or 180 °C for fan ovens. Pop a sheet of baking paper onto the tray.
04 - Carefully roll up the pastry with all the filling from one long side. Squeeze the ends so the filling stays put inside.
05 - First sprinkle shredded cheese all over your pastry. Add the seasoned meat mix on top, but leave a 2 cm gap around the edges.
06 - Take your puff pastry out and let it sit until it's not cold and stiff anymore.
07 - Toss ground meat into a bowl and season with salt, pepper, and plenty of paprika. If you like, add herbs, diced peppers, onions, or a little chili too.

# Notes:

01 - To go meat-free, swap in plant-based ground. Just follow the same steps.
02 - Tossing in fresh herbs and crunchy veggies makes everything taste extra bright and fresh.
