Put the roll onto your baking tray and bake for 25–30 minutes or until the outside's crispy and has a deep golden color.

Whisk the egg and brush it all over the puff pastry roll. This'll make it come out shiny and golden.

Set your oven to 200 °C if you're using top and bottom heat, or 180 °C for fan ovens. Pop a sheet of baking paper onto the tray.

Carefully roll up the pastry with all the filling from one long side. Squeeze the ends so the filling stays put inside.

First sprinkle shredded cheese all over your pastry. Add the seasoned meat mix on top, but leave a 2 cm gap around the edges.

Take your puff pastry out and let it sit until it's not cold and stiff anymore.

Toss ground meat into a bowl and season with salt, pepper, and plenty of paprika. If you like, add herbs, diced peppers, onions, or a little chili too.
