Polish Sauerkraut Potatoes Sausage (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1/4 tsp pepper
02 - 1 bay leaf
03 - 1 tsp caraway seeds
04 - 1 lb Polish sausage, chopped in big pieces
05 - 1 cup water
06 - 5-6 potatoes, peeled and sliced into big chunks
07 - 2 cans (14 oz each) sauerkraut, juices left in

# Instructions:

01 - Take the bay leaf out, nobody likes biting into that. Fill your bowls and enjoy while it's still warm!
02 - Try a bite to see if it needs anything else. Sometimes I toss in a dash of extra pepper or a shake of paprika here.
03 - Pop the lid on and let it cook away for either 4 hours on high or 6 hours on low. Once your potatoes are soft and everything smells great, it's done!
04 - Set the sausage chunks right on top. They'll soak up loads of flavor as everything cooks together.
05 - Sauerkraut goes into your slow cooker first, then the potatoes. Next, toss in the pepper, bay leaf, and caraway. Pour the water over it all.
06 - Gather what you'll need, get those potatoes peeled, and hack them into nice big pieces.

# Notes:

01 - This is cozy Polish comfort food and works great for chilly days.
02 - Try swapping in turkey or chicken sausage if you want to keep things lighter.
