Cook the sausage in a frying pan over medium heat until it's no longer pink. Take out the extra grease, then cool it a bit.

Mix up the cooled sausage with pepper, garlic powder, cheddar cheese, and cream cheese until it's all blended together.

Scoop the sausage mix onto the thicker end of each crescent, roll it into a log shape, and lay it seam-side down on your baking tray.

If you want, brush the crescents with the beaten egg, then put them in the oven at 375°F for 12-15 minutes. They should come out golden brown.
