Sweet Smoky Brussels Sprouts (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes, optional.
02 - 1/4 cup maple syrup.
03 - 1 tablespoon honey.
04 - 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar.
05 - 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard.
06 - 1/2 teaspoon salt.
07 - 2 tablespoons olive oil.
08 - 6 slices of thick bacon, chopped into 1-inch pieces.
09 - 1 pound of halved and trimmed Brussels sprouts.
10 - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper.

# Instructions:

01 - Set your oven to 425°F (220°C) and let it warm up.
02 - Mix the Brussels sprouts with olive oil, honey, salt, and black pepper. Lay them flat on a baking tray.
03 - Spread the bacon pieces on a different tray.
04 - Put the trays in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, until the sprouts soften and the bacon gets crispy.
05 - In a small dish, stir maple syrup, Dijon mustard, balsamic vinegar, and red pepper flakes together until smooth.
06 - Mix the crispy sprouts and bacon with the glaze. Serve while warm!

# Notes:

01 - Go for smaller sprouts; they'll roast better.
02 - Skip some honey or syrup if you prefer it less sweet.
03 - Swap regular bacon with turkey bacon or even smoked tofu.
04 - Store leftovers in the fridge, but eat within 2 days.
