Meatloaf Potato Cheese (Print)

Flavorful meatloaf, velvety potatoes, and gooey cheese melt together into a homey baked meal.

# Ingredients:

→ Meat mixture

01 - 0.5 tsp ground black pepper
02 - 0.5 tsp salt
03 - 1 tsp onion powder
04 - 1 tsp garlic powder
05 - 60 ml ketchup
06 - 1 egg
07 - 80 ml milk
08 - 60 g plain bread crumbs
09 - 450 g ground beef (85/15 works best)

→ Mashed potato layer

10 - Salt and pepper, as much as you like
11 - 28 g butter
12 - 60 g sour cream
13 - 700 g mashed potatoes (ready or leftover)

→ Top layer

14 - Fresh parsley (throw on top if you want)
15 - 180 g shredded cheddar cheese

# Steps:

01 - Wait about 5–10 minutes so everything sets. Slice it up, scatter fresh parsley if you like, then dig in.
02 - Add cheddar all over the top. Put it back in for 10–15 minutes until that cheese is gooey and a nice golden color.
03 - Carefully layer your seasoned potatoes across the meat. Try to spread it out evenly.
04 - Warm the potatoes a bit. Throw in butter and sour cream, mix them in, and salt and pepper until it tastes just right.
05 - Push the meat mixture into your pan so it’s even. Bake for 20–25 minutes, uncovered.
06 - Get a big bowl and toss in the ground beef, bread crumbs, milk, egg, ketchup, garlic powder, onion powder, plus salt and pepper. Use a spoon or your hands—just mix until it holds together.
07 - Flip your oven on to 190°C. Get a 23 by 23 centimeter baking dish greased or lined with parchment.

# Notes:

01 - If you want your potatoes extra creamy, a splash of milk does the trick.
