Velvet Cookie Bites (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1/2 cup (113g) melted unsalted butter.
02 - 1/2 cup (100g) tightly packed brown sugar.
03 - 1/3 cup (67g) regular white sugar.
04 - 2 tablespoons (10g) cocoa powder, no added sugar.
05 - 1 egg, large size.
06 - 1 teaspoon pure vanilla.
07 - 1/2 teaspoon salt.
08 - 1/2 teaspoon baking soda.
09 - 1 1/2 cups (186g) plain all-purpose flour.
10 - 1 teaspoon vinegar (white).
11 - 1 teaspoon red coloring for food.
12 - 3/4 cup (128g) chocolate chips (white).
13 - 3/4 cup (128g) milk chocolate or semi-sweet chips.

# Instructions:

01 - Cover your baking trays with parchment or silicone liners.
02 - Stir butter, both sugars, and cocoa together. Toss in the egg, vanilla, salt, and soda. Then mix in the flour until combined.
03 - Stir in red coloring and vinegar. Toss in the chocolate chips and blend it all together.
04 - Shape the dough into 2-tablespoon-sized balls on the sheets. Let them chill for 30 minutes.
05 - Bake the cookies in a 350°F oven for 10–13 minutes. Wait until they lose their glossy shine. Let them cool on the tray.

# Notes:

01 - Use just 1/2 teaspoon if you're working with gel-style food coloring.
02 - Add the vinegar at the very end to avoid any early reactions in the dough.
03 - You could swap the chips for cream cheese frosting, if you'd like.
