Try new things by adding chopped apples into your batter, or switch out the cinnamon filling for a nutmeg crumble topping. When you want something extra special, try using maple glaze instead of the regular cream one.Keeping Them Fresh
Your muffins will stay soft if you keep them in a sealed container with paper towels inside. If you need them to last longer, freeze them without glaze for up to three months, then thaw and add glaze when you're ready to eat them.Prep Ahead Tricks
Save time in the morning by getting things ready the night before. Mix your dry stuff and keep it in a sealed container. Stir your wet ingredients together and put them in the fridge overnight. When morning comes, just combine everything, fill your muffin pan, and bake. You can also make the cinnamon-sugar mix ahead, so you can have fresh muffins even on busy days.Getting Temperatures Right
To nail these muffins, you've got to pay attention to temperature at every step. Room temp ingredients mix together better and bake more evenly. If you forgot to take your eggs and sour cream out of the fridge, put the eggs in warm water for 5 minutes and warm the sour cream in the microwave a few seconds at a time until they're not cold anymore.Fun Serving Ideas
These muffins work great for lots of different events. Wrap them up with ribbon for bake sales or holiday presents. Make tiny ones in a small muffin pan for fancy brunches. They're great for thanking teachers, welcoming new neighbors, or bringing to morning meetings when you want to make everyone happy.Ideas For Every Season
Change up these muffins throughout the year with seasonal twists. Add orange zest in winter, mix in berries for spring, toss in peach chunks during summer, or fold in apple pieces in fall. The basic recipe works as a great starting point for seasonal changes while keeping that comforting cinnamon-sugar flavor.Money-Saving Tips
These muffins show you can get fancy taste without spending lots of money. Buy butter and sour cream when they're on sale and freeze them for later. Mix your own cinnamon and sugar instead of buying premade versions. Each muffin costs very little to make, especially compared to what you'd pay at a coffee shop, and they taste fresher and better too.Expert Baking Advice
Treat your muffin batter like it's precious - every stir matters. Stop mixing as soon as the dry stuff gets wet; that's your cue to quit stirring. Get into a rhythm: scoop, sprinkle, top, then repeat. This step-by-step approach helps make sure every muffin in your batch turns out just right. From all my time baking at home and in professional kitchens, these cinnamon sugar cream muffins hit the sweet spot between easy and impressive. They've become what I'm known for at morning get-togethers, and they always make people smile and ask for my recipe.

Steps
Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line your muffin tray with paper cups.
Stir together the plain flour, salt, baking powder, and sugar in a large bowl until they're evenly mixed.
In another mixing bowl, whisk the eggs, vanilla, milk, and melted butter. Add this into your dry mix, stirring just enough to combine.
Gently add in the sour cream and stir until the batter has a nice smooth texture.
Mix together the cinnamon and brown sugar in a little dish to make the swirl.
Pour batter halfway into each muffin liner, sprinkle on the cinnamon sugar mixture, and top it with more batter till cups are 3/4 full.
Bake them for about 18 to 20 minutes. To test, stick a toothpick into the center; it should come out without batter.
As muffins cool off a bit, blend the icing sugar and milk till smooth. Drizzle it over the muffins while they're still warm.
