Steps
Trim off those crusts first. Then take a rolling pin and carefully roll out each slice until it’s nice and flat.
Combine your melted butter, brown sugar, and 2 tablespoons of cinnamon in a little bowl. Stir it all up until smooth.
Smear some of that buttery cinnamon mixture on each flattened bread slice. Leave a tiny space around the edges. Roll each one tightly and lightly pinch the ends to keep it shut.
In a shallow dish, beat together the eggs, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla until it’s all blended.
Warm up your pan over medium heat and melt some butter in it. Dunk each roll-up in the egg mix. Put them in the pan and cook, flipping until all sides are golden—about 2 or 3 minutes total.
Notes
- Softer bread will be easier to roll up without tearing.
- Make sure to dip them quickly in the egg coating, not too long.
- You can prep these ahead and warm them later when needed.
- Store in the freezer for up to 30 days and reheat when ready.
