Ingredients

→ For Rolling Them Up

01 10 pieces of plain white bread, no crusts
02 3 tablespoons melted butter
03 3 tablespoons light brown sugar
04 2 tablespoons cinnamon powder

→ For the Toast Batter

05 3 big eggs
06 1 tablespoon of milk
07 ½ teaspoon cinnamon spice
08 ½ teaspoon of vanilla flavor

→ For Frying

09 2 or 3 tablespoons butter for cooking

Instructions

Step 01

Trim off those crusts first. Then take a rolling pin and carefully roll out each slice until it’s nice and flat.

Step 02

Combine your melted butter, brown sugar, and 2 tablespoons of cinnamon in a little bowl. Stir it all up until smooth.

Step 03

Smear some of that buttery cinnamon mixture on each flattened bread slice. Leave a tiny space around the edges. Roll each one tightly and lightly pinch the ends to keep it shut.

Step 04

In a shallow dish, beat together the eggs, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla until it’s all blended.

Step 05

Warm up your pan over medium heat and melt some butter in it. Dunk each roll-up in the egg mix. Put them in the pan and cook, flipping until all sides are golden—about 2 or 3 minutes total.

Notes

  1. Softer bread will be easier to roll up without tearing.
  2. Make sure to dip them quickly in the egg coating, not too long.
  3. You can prep these ahead and warm them later when needed.
  4. Store in the freezer for up to 30 days and reheat when ready.
